Learn How To Use Shibari For Emotional Well being

Is fear holding you back?

Feel like you’re not living life to the full?

Lost confidence in yourself?

What if I told you, you can transform this fear into power and start living a life you love…using a rope?

I’ve shown so many women how to release old belief systems and negative thoughts using Shibari rope.

If you want to take back your control and awaken your inner most desires, Shibari could be for you!

What is Shibari?

Shibari is an ancient Japanese practice of artistic rope bondage. It originates from a type of martial arts, Hojo-jutsu, which was used in Japan in the 1400’s as a means to restrain and torture prisoners. InSamurai culture, they liked to honour and respect their prisoners by tying them up in an artistic and intricate way.

The Shibari we know today though is like Kinbaku, a form of erotic bondage. Kinbaku means “the beauty of tight binding”. Before you go running for the hills, I’d like to explain that bondage is not all about whips and gimp masks. It’s much more!

Shibari is about feeling empowered and getting in touch with your body. It has the ability to release emotional blocks which hold us back and awaken our sexual power

How does Shibari work?

Shibari involves tying your partner up in geometric patterns and shapes with rope, creating a beautiful decoration on their body. The “rigger” (the person tying the knots), will repeat patterns of knots to create ties that fit the natural curves on the body of the person being tied (the “rope bottom”).

Shibari is not about hurting someone or making them feel uncomfortable. The aim is to make them feel loved, cared for and safe. When done correctly, Shibari is pure art. Those being tied up look beautiful and serene.

However, it’s not only about tying each other up in pretty knots. When you’re tied up, the emotional connection you feel with your partner is intense. It’ll take you on a journey together and you’ll learn so much about each other.

When unravelling (from your ties), I always recommend you take twice as long, as it’s during this stage that we remove the emotional blockages which hold us back. It’s also the point where we can experience full body energetic orgasms. Jute and hemp ropes send vibrations throughout the body, heightening your senses to create a feeling of euphoria.

When you exchange power in Shibari, you’re surrendering yourself to the other person and giving yourself permission to let go. The whole experience can be very erotic and make you feel more connected to your partner.

What is Shibari rope?

The rope we use in Shibari is a non-stretchy rope made from natural fibres, usually jute or hemp. This type of rope has more grip which is important for wrapping the ties.

Nylon, cotton or silk ropes do not vibrate like jute or hemp.

A Shibari rope needs to be around 8 metres long and 6 millimetres thick. Having the rope this thick allows good contact on the body and it doesn’t make it too bulky.
